Viewing Google and my websites

Google and my websites

User: Susan S. one month ago
I know you can't control Google but I'm clearly having a big problem. I have my own websites, my family's websites, a few friends, and a couple of clients. NONE are turning up in Google Search. I do keyword research.. I feel I've named my pages well, used keywords in content, I've checked to include page in search engines, I've got a "social media image," checked to include an SML site map, set page priority, have a good page description, filled out alt tags, checked to optimize and submit site to search engines and I pay for the SEO add on.

Yet I've got nothing in Google. The site comes up first in Bing if you type in Skydive on Cape Cod. I'd also like to add this is the ONLY skydive business on Cape Cod. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

To check and see if Google even indexes your site, you can type in this: site.skydivethemills.com and the only page that comes up is an interior page, the booking page. On Google, that booking page title that shows: "Book tandem skydive now " is from the old website, which has been gone for over a year, and worse, it's a mobile page! So when you click it on a desktop, you see a skinny mobile page. The new page title is: "Book a tandem skydive on Cape Cod | Skydive the Mills," and for a year now, that has never shown up. Nor have any of the other website pages, and this site has been around for at least 4 years.

Right now, there is a desktop site and a separate mobile site, and I don't include the mobile site pages in search. Maybe I should, but when I do that, we keep getting a notice from Google saying that we have duplicate pages on our website, which, of course, there are—they are the same except for size.

Worse, I have 11 websites in total, almost none turn up on Google.

What am I doing wrong here?

Hi Susan,

Thank you for posting.

It seems like Google has not re-crawled through your websites in a long time, and this depends on them. One way to improve this situation is better explained here: https://www.conductor.com/academy/google-index/faq/recrawl/ . I can see the XML sitemap for http://skydivethemills.com/ is there and working, so the instructions in the provided link should help.

Also, if you need any further assistance, kindly note that you can always open a ticket by clicking here , and send us specific questions there. We'll be happy to help.

Best regards,

Hi Susan,

I would also recommend that you submit your site to Google search console;
https://search.google.com/search-console

This will help get your website indexed properly and report on any issues from Google.

I am using Google Search Console; that's how I know that Google thinks the site has no follow tags on it. I sent the file to support, and they said as long I have included every page to search engines and in XML sitemap, there are NO "no follow" tags on it, yet Google thinks there are. I just added canonical tags to the head of every page because Google Console was dinging me for having duplicate pages (desktop and mobile), so this has been a LONG haul, and it's still not in Google search.

Hi Susan,

I see your ticket and reviewed the screenshots and responded. Google is not re-indexing your website, probably because it is not set up as a secure HTTPS site. I have responded with a possible solution.
